They had 6 children Terence Michael, Ann, Ralph Leslie, Maureen, Murray Richard and Colleen. Colleen died 11 April 2001.

Edwin was educated at Crosby House Boarding School in Kent.  He was looked after by 2 aunts, Maud and Alice during his time in England. He served in the 24th Battalion in WW2 and was captured by the Italians.  He became a prisoner of war under the Italians and then the Germans.
